David Young, 39, of St. Charles, died Aug. 26, 1995 in a farm accident near his home. Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, at 10 a.m. Pastor Doug Helton will officiate the services. Burial will be at the St. Charles Cemetery.
He was born in Madison County on April 16, 1956 to William Wayne and Beverly Jo (Husted) Young of Winterset. He married Sarah G. Shafer on Aug. 21, 1976 in Winterset. He was a farmer and worked part-time for Primerica Financial Services. He taught vocational agriculture for Interstate 35 schools from 1978 - 1988 and was a junior high wrestling coach. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. He was also a member of the Pork Producers, Farm Bureau, and the Optimist Club.
Surviving relatives include his parents; his wife; two sons, Isaac and Gabriel Young, both of Truro; one sister, Donna Jo DeHut of Des Moines; and two grandmothers, Faye Husted and Kathryn Young, both of Winterset.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Interstate 35 schools to be used for technology purposes.
