Obituary

Chase-Died in Douglas township, Madison county, Iowa, June 11th, 1889, Annie Pearl, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Chase, aged three months and nine days. This little child was an intense sufferer, with whooping cough and affection of the brain, and all that the loving parents and other friends and medical aid could do was done, yet the messenger of death came, and that alone released the little body from pain. This indeed is a hard stroke to the bereaved parents, but ever remember your loved one is gone to dwell with Him who has said. "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." On the following day after a short funeral service at the home the little body was conveyed to the Worthington cemetery and there laid to rest.

Sleep on in thy beauty
Annie Pearl; sweet child,
By sorrow unblighted,
By sin undefiled.

Like the dove to the ark,
Thou hast flown to thy rest;
From the sorrows of this world,
To the house of the blest.
