Anderson Shaw was born in Brown county, Ohio, Jan. 8, 1826, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thos. Kirkland at Macksburg, on August 1, 1910, at the age of 84 years, 6 months, 24 days.
Mr. Shaw was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Pindell in Brown county, Ohio, to this union was born one son and three daughters, one of which died in infancy, the other three M. C. Shaw, Mrs. Sarah Busch and Mrs. Thos. Kirkland remain to mourn his departure. Mr. Shaw with his wife came to Iowa in 1872 and settled on a farm near Pleasant View church. Here his wife died April 19, 1889.
After several years he returned to Brown county, Ohio, where he was again married to Mrs. Mahaley Rhoten, who has also passed to the world beyond. Mr. Shaw has spent the last eight years in Iowa, and has won a host of friends. He united with the church at Pleasant View in 1898 and was a member at the time of his death.
The funeral was at the Macksburg M. E. church August 3d and he was laid to rest in the Pleasant View cemetery.

Undertaker Evans was called to Macksburg Tuesday of last week to care for the remains of Mr. Shaw, who died at the age of 84.
