Marie Jensen, Winterset

Services for Mrs. Marie Jensen, 92, Winterset, who died Dec. 25 at the Winterset Care Center North, were held Dec. 29 at Trinity Lutheran Church near Van Meter. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Born in Boone County on Jan. 24, 1896, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna Thomsen. She married Julius G. Jensen on Jan. 24, 1917 at Trinity Lutheran Church at Van Meter.

Prior to coming to Winterset, she and her husband farmed for many years near DeSoto after which they retired and moved to Van Meter. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a charter member of Ladies Aide.

Survivors include a son, Harold of Van Meter; a daughter, Marjorie Cade of DeSoto, a sister Emma Compton of Winterset; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
