Margie Jensen, Des Moines

Services for Margie Jensen, 65, Des Moines, who died Dec. 8 at a residence in Winterset, were held Monday, Dec. 11 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Sharp of the New Hope Christian Church officiating. Burial was at the Hill of Zion Cemetery.

Born in Des Moines on Dec. 22, 1923, she was the daughter of Floyd and Patience McLaughlin Horton. She was a retired service technician and had worked for 25 years with Sears, Roebuck before retiring.

She was married to John Jensen on June 11, 1940 at Grant City, Mo., and had lived in Des Moines for 25 years after living at Zion.

Survivors include sons, Dennis and wife Sue of Duluth, Minn., Darrell of Winterset, Doyle and wife Dyane of Winterset, and John and wife Cindy of Bettendorf; a daughter, Loretta Lauer and husband Dean of Winterset; brothers, Don Horton of Des Moines and Harry Horton of Sapulpa, Okla.; a sister Dory Schrock of Reno, Nev.; 15 grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
