A native of Downs, Kansas, Ezra Ellsworth Hull died Friday, January 9, 1976, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 90 years of age, a resident of Winterset since 1967.
Mr. Hull was born June 8, 1885, the eldest son of William Hull and Mary K. Markle Hull. The family moved to Jasper county, Iowa, in October 1888. One brother and two sisters were born who preceded him in death
In February, 1901, Mr. Hull united with the Baptist Church at Fairmont, Iowa and transferred to the Methodist Church in 1905 after the family moved to Union County in 1903.
The marriage of Ezra Hull to Nellie M. Wadell took place June 10, 1906, at Nevinville, Adams County, Iowa. The couple moved to Peru in 1934 from Creston. Mrs. Hull preceded her husband in death August 29, 1966.
A bank teller in Peru at the time of his retirement, Mr. Hull was a Master Mason of Cypress Lodge No. 539 in Orient, Iowa, and was a 50-year member of the Evening Star Lodge No. 43 in Winterset. He was affiliated with the Peru Methodist Church.
Mr. Hull leaves no surviving relatives. His funeral services were conducted Monday, January 12, 1976, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Methodist Church of Peru, the Rev. Richard Hempenius of Truro officiating. Burial was made at the Peru Cemetery.
