Laura Jones Irvin

Laura Jones Irvin, daughter of Mrs. Jesse Call, was twenty-four years, three months and twenty-nine days old.

She was born in the state of Missouri and later moved to Oklahoma where she spent the most of her girl-hood days. About eight years ago she moved to Iowa.

On October 12th 1914, she was united in marriage to Dr. Harry Clay Irvin, of Adel, Iowa, who is now a captain in the Medical Corps of the United States Army. To this union was born one child, Harry Clay Irvin Jr.

She was a very devoted wife and mother. She was stricken with the disease that caused her death over a year ago, and since that time has been under Sanitarium treatment. She had been a very consistent patient and put up a hard and brave fight for her life, but recently realizing the hopelessness of her case expressed her desire to be taken away. Some time ago she accepted the Catholic faith and was prepared and willing to go.

Word was just received yesterday that her brother, Henry Jones had died from wounds received in battle overseas.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Capt. Harry Irvin, a baby son, her mother, Mrs. Jesse Call, of Winterset, two sisters; Mrs. E. P. Roberts and Miss Eura Jones also of Winterset, also three brothers living Charley Jones of Omaha, Nebraska, Walter of Nebraska City, Missouri, and Lewis of Pitcher, Oklahoma.
