GLEN STANLEY, Winterset

Glen Stanley, 84, of Winterset died of pneumonia Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial took place at Winterset Cemetery.

Glen Stanley was born Aug. 3, 1913, in Dallas County to Benjamin Franklin Stanley and Nettie Jane Clague Stanley. He married Marie Kessler on Oct. 19, 1940, in Grant City, Mo. The couple made their home and farmed in Madison County. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of Farm Bureau and Foursquare Gospel Church.

Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Ray (wife Lynne) of Spearfish, S.D.; four daughters, Mary Jane Flynn (husband Don) of Grapeland, Texas, Martha Brown (husband David) of Greenville, S.C., Elaine Kephart (husband Everett) of New Virginia and Ann Epperson (husband Bob) of Winterset; a brother, Dale Stanley of Earlham; and a sister, Lucile Smith, also of Earlham; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
