GERALDINE McCORKLE, Urbandale

Geraldine Maxine McCorkle, 84, died of complications of a stroke Dec. 24, 2002, at USA Healthcare Center in Urbandale.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 28, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Geraldine McCorkle was born June 11, 1918, in Paxton, S.D., to Clarence and Lillian (Leonard) Myers. She married Alvadore Perry Osborn; he preceded her in death in 1945. On Dec. 20, 1970, she married Kenneth M. McCorkle. Geraldine had worked as a nurse's aide in Winterset, where she resided following her retirement. She had been a resident of the Des Moines area since 1974.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and a son Ray Dean Osborn.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Osborn of Milpitas, Calif., and Al Osborn of Urbandale; a daughter, Ardis Porter of Des Moines; a brother, Gerald Myers of Council Bluffs; eight brandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
