Bruce Algreen, the son of Peter and Lillie Belle Moyer Algreen, was born Dec. 4, 1897 near Orient. He lived most of his life near Dexter.
On Sept. 23, 1924, he and Fern Lenocker were married in the Lenocker home. To them four children were born. He liked farming, fishing and hunting. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and one daughter, Marie.
He leaves his wife, Fern, two daughters, Dorothy Ault of Tamarak, Florida and Margie Alexander of Winterset, his son, Ronnie of Dexter, thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Everett of Earlham, Vern of Dexter, and Keith of Winterset, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
He died Aug. 19 at the Madison County Hospital, Winterset, after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 21, 10:30 a.m. at Penn Center Church with burial at Penn Cemetery.

Bruce thoroughly liked farming. In his dealings he was an honest and dependable man. He enjoyed the outdoors in his fishing and hunting. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, and one daughter, Marie.
He leaves his wife, Fern, two daughters, Dorothy Ault of Tamarak, Florida and Margie Alexander of Winterset, his son, Ronnie of Dexter, 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three brothers, Everett of Earlham, Vern of Dexter, and Keith of Winterset, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Bruce passed away August 19, 1982, at the Madison County Hospital., Winterset, after a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted August 21, 1982 at the Penn Center Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Farr officiating. Marcella McCleary was organist. Casket bearers were Michael Graham, Jeff Alexander, David Alexander, Greg Alexander, Dan Alexander, Bruce Algreen. Interment was in Penn Center Cemetery, rural route, Dexter, Iowa.
