Lester O. Alexander, St. Charles

Lester O. Alexander, 95, died of pneumonia Sat., Jan. 4 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, Des Moines. Services were held January 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Overton Funeral Home, Indianola.

Born in Mahaska County August 17, 1896, he was the son of Frank and Maria (Simpkins) Alexander. He lived in Rose Hill and Fremont before moving to St. Charles in 1946. He married Bertha M. Rhodes who preceded him in death on January 7, 1965. Mr. Alexander was a retired farmer and a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include a son, Willis of St. Charles; three daughters, Lorene Robbins of Tracey, Letha Kamerick of Pella and Lois Taylor of Indianola; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be hled at 1 p.m. Wednesday at White Oak Cemetery near Rose Hill.
