Eugene Alcorn, Winterset

Eugene Estella Alcorn, 78, died May 13 1994 at the Heritage Manor in Des Moines. Funeral services were May 17, 1994 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 31, 1915 in Danville, Ill. to John and Josephine (Charles) Alcorn. He married Hazel M. Sirdoreus in Paris, Ill. on December 3, 1945. He was a retired granite polisher and had worked at Winterset Monument. He was a lifetime resident of Winterset and a member of the Foursquare Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son; one daughter; one brother; one sister; and one grandson.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Larry W. Alcorn and Donald L. Alcorn of Winterset; three daughters, Linda J. Davis of Des Moines, Donna L. Baker of Winterset and Wilma Larsen of Lynnwood, Wash.; one brother, Glenn Alcorn of Indianola; four sisters, Mary Lou Hern of Indianola, Shirley Wade of Ill., Lela Kembery of Thayer and Grace Alcorn; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
