Funeral services for Ora R. Haines of Winterset were held last Friday from the Collins Funeral home. The Rev. William E. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mr. Haines died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 1966, at Madison Manor here, after an extended period of failing health. He was 77 years of age.
He had been a resident of Madison county for 65 years, engaging in farming in Lincoln township during his active years. He retired in 1952, and had lived in Winterset since that time.
He was a native of Illinois, where he was born in Champaign county May 2, 1889, a son of John and Mary Fishback Haines. He was married here Feb. 10, 1910, to Mabel Holmes, who survives him.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, John Eldon Haines and Ollie Maurice Haines, both of Winterset. He also leaves seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Winnie Anderson of Winterset and two brothers, Ollie Haines of Winterset and Marion L. Haines of Hayden Lake, Idaho.
