Clarence S. Gardner, a resident of this community for 34 years, died Thursday, April 23, 1964, at his home in Winterset. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Gardner has been employed at the Winterset Monument company for many years, prior to his retirement.
He was a native of Lyon county, where he was born at Lester on Oct. 2, 1894, a son of Horace M. and Hattie Spencer Gardner. He was married, at Winterset Sept. 5, 1917, to Zoe Garst, who survives him.
He was a member of the First Christian church of Winterset, and of the Modern Woodmen of America.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Lawrence E. Gardner of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma V. Eyerly of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Fulton of Bakersfield and Mrs. Ethel LaRue of Los Angeles.
