Mrs. Ed Wagner of Waterloo, a former resident of Madison County, died Saturday, April 22, 1972, at St. Francis hospital in Waterloo. She had been in failing health for several years.
Mrs. Wagner was the former Gretchen Hermon of Winterset. She was born here Feb. 15, 1904, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hermon. She was married to Ed Wagner of Winterset on April 20, 1921. They lived in Peru until 1937, when they moved to Waterloo.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Callaway of Waterloo and Martha Wagner of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandsons; four sisters, Mrs. Dora Hulbert, Mrs. Mary Rhodes and Betty Hermon, all of Winterset, and Mrs. Virginia Noennick of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two brothers, Ed Hermon of Winterset and Wesley Hermon of West Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday from the First Methodist church in Waterloo, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Kitterman and the Rev. Richard Paulus. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery Monday.
