MAX PALMER, rural Lorimor

Funeral services were held Friday, March 26, at Macksburg Methodist Church for Max Garland Palmer of rural Lorimor, who died March 24 1982, at Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines. He was 55 years old.

Born Sept. 22, 1926 in Macksburg, he was the son of Loman and Ethel McKinney Palmer. He attended Macksburg schools, graduating from Macksburg High School in 1944.

He was a veteran, serving in the army during the Korean War, and later joined the Winterset American Legion.

On May 30, 1953 he married Marjorie Kreis in Fontanelle. One son, Delane, was born to the couple.

Mr. Palmer was a farmer by occupation. He also served as Union County Weed Commissioner, drove a Macksburg school bus for 20 years and sold feed for Lucas Products of Bedford, Ia. for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of Lorimor; son Delane of Lorimor; a brother, Don, of Winterset, and two sisters, Lois Howard fo Runnells and Helen Goad of Eugene, Oregon.

Rev. Robert Wood officiated at the funeral, with burial in Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.
