Susie E. Allsup, Earlham

Graveside services for Susie E. Allsup, 70, were held Thurs., Jan. 3 at Dexter Cemetery with the Rev. George Thurman officiating. She died of a stroke Mon., Dec. 31 at Earlham Manor Care Center.

She was born May 16, 1920 in Texas County, Mo., to Abram and Letty (Burks) Swofford, and married Earnest Allsup on June 29, 1936. They spent most of their married life farming in Madison and Dallas counties, moving to Adair County in 1959 where they had been retired since 1977. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Larry of Stuart and Wayne of Adel; a daughter, Gloria Merical of Brooklyn; a sister, Pearl Stocker of Springfield, Mo., 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
