Services for Opal M. Locke, 70, of Winterset were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with the Rev. David Livingston officiating. Mrs. Locke died Sunday, July 15, 1979, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 4, 1909, at Woodward, Okla., she was the daughter of Norris and Armelda Snyder Jordan. She was married to Verne Locke, who preceded her in death, on August 27, 1928 in Adel. A member of the First Christian Church, Mrs. Locke lived here most of her life and was a clerk at Jackson Pharmacy.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister. Survivors include a brother, John M. Jordan of Harlington, Tex., and three sisters, Elva Mobley and Eleta Willcox, both of Winterset, and Uva Ray of Minneapolis, Mn.
