Catharine Mathews Addy, 90, died of congestive heart failure Nov. 15, 2001, at Winterset Care Center North.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 19, at Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare in Winterset with the Rev. William Branson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Catharine Addy was born Feb. 15, 1911 to Ralph and Elizabeth (Downs) Mathews of Harvey. A graduate of St. Charles High School, she later graduated from Mercy College of Nursing in Des Moines. On July 23, 1932, she married Wyman Addy in Bethany, Mo. A lifetime resident of Madison County, Catharine, a registered nurse, had worked for Drs. Anderson and Olson in Winterset and at Madison County Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, a sister and three brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Delores Haas of Perrysburg, Ohio; a sister, Ella Jean Fuson (husband Verle) of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
