HAZEL LOCKE, Earlham

Hazel C. Locke, 92, of Earlham, died of a heart ailment at Earlham Care Center on Dec. 27, 1995. Funeral services were Dec. 30, 1995, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with burial in the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 4, 1903, to Franklin and Sarah (Daniels) Cooper in Madison County. She married Harry B. Locke on Jan. 27, 1927, in Des Moines. She was a former secretary for the Madison County Auditor's Office and a former store clerk at Graham's Clothing Store. She was a life-time Winterset resident before moving to the Earlham Care Center in 1993. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; and six infant brothers and sisters.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Dollie Calhoun of Earlham; a nephew; and several great nieces and nephews.
