Death of Joseph Acheson

Joseph Acheson of Des Moines, died on Jan. 2, 1921, at his home at the age of 71 years. Mr. Acheson was a native of Ohio, coming to Iowa when but six years old with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Acheson. He is survived by Mrs. Acheson, two daughters; Mrs. Rosa Smith and Mrs. Lizzie Clopton of Winterset; three sons: Ed, Alvin and Vallie Simon of Cheyenne.

The remains were brought to Winterset Tuesday evening, and funeral services were held in Ramsey's funeral parlors this morning. Rev. W. J. Stewart conducted the services, burial being made in Rock City cemetery.

Mortuary

Joseph A. Acheson, son of Robert and Ellen Acheson, was born in Ohio June 21, 1849 and died at Des Moines Jan. 2, 1921, aged 71 years, 6 months and 11 days. He moved with his parents from Ohio in 1855.

He was married to Louisa Childers, Feb. 26, 1874. To this union were born six children: Pearlie, who died in infancy; Rosa Smith and Lizzie Clopton of Winterset; Eddie and Alvin Acheson and Vallie Simon of Cheyenne, Wyo.; who with the wife survive him; also one brother, Robert E. of Commerce, and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. W. J. Stewart. Burial was at Winterset cemetery.
