ELI GREENWOOD Dies at 75 Years

Eli Greenwood, member of a formerly well known family in this community, died in Des Moines last Thursday, April 3, 1958. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Greenwood was born in Madison county July 9, 1882, a son of Ira and Amanda Cox Greenwood. He was educated in the Madison county schools and attended a normal college. He was married to Nona Croft of Winterset on March 1, 1937.

He engaged in the livestock buying business in Winterset for many years and was one of the founders of the Wintersest Community auction.

A number of years ago he moved from Winterset to Missouri, where he continued in the livestock business until last year when he moved to Des Moines.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Masonic lodge.

Surviving are his wife; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Betts of Grimes, Mrs. Amanda Semier of Lamoni, Mrs. Elizabeth Amiet of Tucson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Margaret Lee of Williamsburg; and three brothers, Ward and Guiher Greenwood of Winterset and Merle Greenwood of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. George DeF. Fisher, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
