Brooks Services Held In St. Charles

Ethel Brooks, a well known resident of the St. Charles community, died at the Winterset Care Center North September 2nd at the age of 91. She had been a resident of the Care Center for several months.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of James and Nancy Frasher. She was married to Dr. H. V. Brooks January 1, 1904 at Wayland, Iowa. They were the parents of three children. Mrs. Brooks was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star model chapter 174 of St. Charles and a member of the Christian Church at St. Charles.

She is survived by a daughter Delores, Mrs. Marvin Kale of Lubbock, Texas, a son Dean Brooks of St. Charles and a daughter in law, Mrs. Dale Brooks of Des Moines, 8 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren, a brother Ralph Frasher of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Dale and a sister.

Funeral services were held from the Christian Church in St. Charles Monday, September 5th at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Livingston, pastor of the Winterset Christian Church officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.
