Funeral services were conducted last Saturday, February 16, for George Pitcock, a long-time resident of Jackson Township. Mr. Pitcock died February 14, at the age of 83.
Mr. Pitcock was born in Kelso, Tennessee on July 19, 1890, the son of John and Susan Street Pitcock. He had lived in Madison county for the past 59 years.
On May 26, 1926, he was married to Amy Thrailkill at Dexter.
Mr. Pitcock devoted his life to the occupation of farming. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two sons, Leland and Leonard, both of rural Earlham, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1971.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 16, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Jerry Evelsizer officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
