Zenis Wynkoop, Jefferson

Zenis Avory Wynkoop, 79, died Dec. 30, 1994 at the Green County Medical Center. Funeral services were Jan. 2, 1995 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. Graveside service and Military Rites were held the same day at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born July 21, 1915 in Hamill, south Dakota to Zenis Alva and Minnie (McComb) Wynkoop. He married Katherine Pattison on Sept. 15, 1943 at Bloomington, Ill. He farmed in Earlham and later retired from Petroleum Sales with Cal-Car Farm Service Company in Jefferson. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson and served on several Church boards. He was a member of the Jefferson V.F.W. Post 2963 and the Floyd Brown American Legion Post 11. He had served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one daughter, Gayle Newlin of Urbandale; one son, Ron Wynkoop of Waseca, Minn., two sisters, Marian Mark and husband Paul of Earlham, and Roberta Hindman and husband Raymond of Indianola; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
