Helen May Williams

EARLHAM-Funeral services for Helen May (Gantt) Williams, 80, of Earlham were held Jan. 25, 1995 at the United Methodist Church in Redfield, with interment at Penn Center Cemetery, Earlham. Mrs. Williams died of an aneurysm Jan. 21 at the Earlham Health Care Center where she had lived for the past 4 ½ years.

The daughter of Harry and Valda (Blair) Gantt, she was born March 25, 1914 in Adair County. She graduated from Greenfield High School and taught country school. On Feb. 9, 1935 she married Byrd E. Williams in Greenfield.

She was baptized in and joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at an early age. For many years she was associated with the United Methodist Church at Stuart and Redfield.

Preceding her in death are her parents, a brother and her husband.

Surviving are a son, Byrd, Jr. of Lampe, Mo.; two daughters, Rilla Baker of Redfield and Arlene Ingram of Decatur, Ill.; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
