Services for Guy Burton Scrivner, 65, St. Charles, who died Oct. 18 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, Des Moines, were held Thursday, Oct. 210, at the St. Charles Parish Church with the Rev. Chet Waterman and the Rev. Jim Morris officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.
Born Feb. 14, 1918 at Patterson, he was the son of Robert and Mattie Lehman Scrivner. He attended St. Charles schools and married Irma P. Smith on Mar. 1, 1941 at Nashua. Mr. Scrivner worked for 31 years as an ironworker in Des Moines and was a member of local No. 67. He was a member of the Rolling Wheels Camper Club and the Methodist Church of St. Charles.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Ed Scrivner and wife Betty of Macksburg, Jim Scrivner and wife Deb of Des Moines, Jerry Scrivner and wife Tressa of Peru, Bill Scrivner and wife Evelyn of Moorhead, Minn.; daughters, Barbara Adkins and husband Jack of West Des Moines, Becky Cole and husband John of Edgewood, Md. and Martha Simmerman and husband Robert of Osceola; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Ivan Scrivner and wife Helen, Grant Scrivner and wife Mabel, Gene Scrivner and wife Kathryn, Joe Scrivner and wife Helen, Paul Scrivner and wife Betty, all of St. Charles, and Charles Scrivner and wife Ann of Springfield, Ill.; sisters May Ewart and husband Dale of Pineville, Mo., Mary Peak and husband Frank of Knoxville, and Lois Burt and husband Dean of Cedar Rapids.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, two infant brothers, an infant sister and a grandchild.
