Edward Dale Scrivner, Macksburg

Services for Edward Dale Scrivner, 42, Macksburg, who died Jan. 31 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Monday, Feb. 3, at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg with the Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Burial was in the Moon Cemetery.

Born Oct. 6, 1943 in Polk County, Iowa, he was the son of Guy Burton and Irma Smith Scrivner. He attended St. Charles and graduated in 1962.

On Oct. 9, 1965 he was married to Betty Ethington at St. Charles. He was a trucker for Advanced Drainage Systems of Creston and served in the National Guard for six years. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Macksburg.Survivors include his wife; sons Rodger of the Marines at Camp LeJeune, N.C.; Bob at home; and daughters, Kathy Haymond and husband Dan of Perry; and Christy Scrivner at home; his mother, Irma Scrivner of St. Charles; sisters, Barbara Adkins and husband Jack of West Des Moines, Becky Cole and husband John of Edgewood, Md.;, and Martha Simmerman and husband Robert of Osceola; brothers, Bill and wife Evelyn of Centerville, Va., Jim and wife Deb of Des Moines, and Jerry and wife Tressa of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his father.
