1963MRS. MARY EVISON DIES AT 81 YEARS
Winterset Woman Had Lived In County More Than Half Century
Mrs. Mary M. Evison, a resident of Madison county more than half a century, died Sunday, March 10, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Evison was a native of Boone, where she was born May 26, 1881, a daughter of Hiram and Anne Dyer Hurley. She was married to Harry Kirby on Nov. 17, 1898. He preceded her in death. On Dec. 1, 1903, she was married at Jefferson to Ezra T. Evison. His death occurred April 18, 1960.
Mrs. Evison had lived in Madison county almost 54 years, living near Truro for many years. She moved to Winterset in 1943.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian church.
Surviving are two son, Robert Evison of Palo Alto, Calif., and William Evison of Truro; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Smith of Winterset, Mrs. Edna Deets of Earlham, Mrs. Merle McMichael of Truro and Mrs. Etta Bailey of Winterset; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
