Leta M. Hollingsworth, 80, of Winterset died of respiratory failure Aug. 11, 2002, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Patterson United Methodist Church. A private burial was held at Peru Cemetery.
Leta Hollingsworth was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Madison County (Crawford Township) to Rolla and Alice (Strable) Cumings. She graduated from Patterson High School in 1936. On Jan. 1, 1941, she married N. Bernard Hollingsworth. She and her husband farmed in the Winterset area. Leta remained active in the family farming operation following her move to Winterset in 1993. She was a member of Madison County Farm Bureau, Patterson United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She also had been a Union Township 4-H leader and a volunteer at the Madison County Historical Museum and Madison County Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Hollingsworth of New Orleans, La.; two sons, Mark Hollingsworth (wife Brenda) and Paul Hollingsworth (wife Cathy), both of Winterset; a sister, Betty Lou Green of Truro; a brother, Alvin Cumings (wife Betty) of Indianola; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
