FREDERICK LEE McGEE, Blackwell, Ok.

Frederick Lee McGee was born May 20, 1893 in Winterset, Iowa to John Marion and Minnie Donaldson McGee of Madison County, Iowa. He came to Blackwell with his parents in 1906 and grew up here graduating from B.H.S. in 1911. He entered the U. S. Army during W.W. I and following his discharge returned to Blackwell and joined his father & brother in the Jewelry store.

He married Bessie Adella Larrabee August 12, 1920 in Blackwell. Fred operated the store following his brother Bob's death in 1924 and his fathers death in 1926 until 1960 when he retired and turned the store over to his sons. His mother preceded him February 3, 1953 and his wife Bessie, January 19, 1974.

He is survived by two sons: Bob McGee of Ponca City and Bill McGee of Norman, Okla., five grandchildren; Carol Lea Friesen of Norman, James W. McGee of Houston, Tex., Cynthia Lynn McGee of Ponca City, Robbi Ann McGee of Ponca City and Matthew Dean McGee of Stillwater, Okla. and 2 great grandchildren; Toby Friesen of Norman and Jennifer McGee of Houston, Tex.
