Donald Brunner, Winterset

Donald James Brunner, age 65, of Winterset died August 23 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola. Funeral services were held Mon. Aug. 27 at 11:00 a.m. from the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

A son of George and Alma St. John Brunner, he was born July 14, 1925 at Rushford, Minn. He was married to Violet Reifsteck on July 3, 1948 at Rushford.

He was a plant manager for Mid-Ohio Chemical Company retiring in 1987. He moved to Winterset one and one half years ago from Washington Court House, Ohio. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and one grandson.

Surviving are his wife, Violet of Winterset; two sons, Larry of Cheboygan, Michigan, and James of Sabina, Ohio; one daughter, Cheryl Weltha, of Winterset; two brothers, Art of Longview, Washington and Harvey of Rushford, Minnesota; two sisters, Julia Waadevig of Rochester, Minnesota, and Lucille Tysinger of Standardsville, Virginia; and seven grandchildren.

Officiating at the funeral was the Rev. David Bauer. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Memorials were to Hospice of Central Iowa.
