Kenneth Kirkpatrick, Winterset

Kenneth Kirkpatrick, 90, of Winterset, died of cancer Dec. 2, 1995 at the Winterset Care Center North. Funeral services were Dec. 5 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. The Rev. Don Frank officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born in Adams County on Oct. 14, 1905 to Alvin Guthrie and Edith Alma (Knoodle) Kirkpatrick. He married Lorena Rose Fry on Dec. 24, 1938 in Corning. He was retired meat cutter, having owned and operated Kirkpatrick Locker in Winterset from 1945 until 1970. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. He was a member of the Iowa Meat Processors Assoc.; American Meat Assoc.; Knights of Columbus; and a former Winterset City Council member from 1964 to 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers; one sister; and one son-in-law.

Surviving relatives include one son, William K. Kirkpatrick and wife Deloris of Winterset; two daughter, Edith Jean Kirkpatrick of Winterset and Sharon Kay Sample of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
