Mary C. Hern, 83, died May 12, 2000, at Winterset Care Center South where she had resided for the past year.
Funeral service were held Monday, May 15, at Ochiltree Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Mary Hern was born Aug. 30, 1917, to Clyde E. and Mardie (Lowe) Crossley of Patterson. Her marriage to Ralph E. Hern took place April 15, 1955 in Waterloo. She was a past owner of the Corner Tavern. Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winterset and also was a volunteer at the Madison County Historical Museum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Hanna DeBord of Bancroft, Wis.; and special friends, Bill and Gaylene Stephens of Winterset.
