Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro for Jacob Joseph Kisch, a long-time resident of the Peru area who died March 3 at Parkridge Manor in Pleasant Hill. He was 99 years old.

Born March 5, 1882 in Clarke County, he was the son of John and Ellen Neidt Kirsch. He attended Clarke county schools.

On March 5, 1903 he married Rosa Hayden in Afton. Nine children were born to the union of which five survive.

A farmer, he spent most of his adult life in Madison county. For the past eight years he lived with his daughter, Darlene, in Runnells.

Preceding him death were his parents; wife; three sons and one daughter.

Surviving are four daughters, Cepha Olson of St. Charles, Grace Decker of Winterset, Nona Clark of Creston, and Darlene Dooley of Runnells; a son, Everett Kirsch of Monravia, Calif.; a sister, Clara Smith of Hutchinson, Kansas; 27 grandchildren, 92 great grandchildren and 68 great-great-grandchildren.

Father John Richter and Pastor Harold Cashett officated at the funeral services. Burial was in Peru Cemetery.
