FLORA E. (FROST)

Flora E. Frost, daughter of Charles and Martha Gregg Frost, was born in Earlham, November 5, 1875. She passed away Monday, December 12, at a hospital in Des Moines. During her early childhood she lived in or near Stuart, and Hannibal, Missouri. At the age of ten, because of ill health she returned to Iowa to live with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Frost, south of Stuart. She attended school near Stuart until the age of sixteen. Then she went to make her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Frost, of Plainview, Nebraska. She completed her education there.

She was married to Alfred Folson June 3, 1895. Her husband preceded her in death February 7, 1898.

In April of 1898 she returned to Iowa to care for her aged grandparents, who had moved to Dexter. On August 1, 1900, she was married to George W. Marston. Four children were born to this union. Her husband preceded her in death in 1940.

Those who survive to mourn her loss are her four children, Mrs. Oren Mills of Charles City, Iowa; Mrs. Luther Allen of Des Moines; Mr. W. Marston of Michigan City, Indiana and Dr. G. W. Marston, of Schalle, Iowa; three brothers, George, Charles, and H. T. Frost; one half-brother Marcellus Frost; 12 grandchildren; great grandchildren and many friends.

When she lived in Dexter she was an active member (of) the Methodist church, the Ladies’ Aid and the Foreign Missionary Society.

The service was in the Dexter church Wednesday. Burial at Penn Center.
