Funeral services for Delmar Ranson Shreves were held Friday, March 27, at the United Methodist Church in St. Charles. Mr. Shreves died Tuesday, March 24, at his home near St. Charles at the age of 66.
Born June 14, 1914 on a farm in Warren County near St. Charles, he was the son of Samuel R. Shreves and Linnie Wick Shreves. He attended Martensdale and St. Charles schools.
In 1938 he married Edna G. Clarke at Martensdale, Iowa. Two children were born to the marriage.
A farmer by occupation, he was also a member of the United Methodist Church of St. Charles and a youth counselor for the church for 18 years.
Mr. Shreves was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Doris Cushing; and one grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; a daughter, Jacquelyn McKinney; a son, Larry D. Shreves; a brother, Arthur Shreves; and eight grandchildren (all living in St. Charles).
Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Delmar Ransom Shreves of St. Charles died at his home Tuesday, March 24. Funeral services were held Friday, March 27 from the United Methodist Church in St. Charles. Rev. Rolland Towell officiated at the 2:00 p.m. service with interment in the St. Charles Cemetery.
Delmar Ransom Shreves, 66, son of Samuel R. and Linnie Wick Shreves, was born on a farm near St. Charles, June 14, 1914. He attended the Martensdale and St. Charles schools and June 7, 1938, was united in marriage to Edna G. Clarke. They were the parents of two children.
He was affiliated with the Methodist Church of St. Charles, and was a member of the Methodist Youth Counselor for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Shreves of St. Charles, daughter, Jacquelyn McKinney and husband, Francis, of St. Charles, and son, Larry D. Shreves and wife, Cecelia of St. Charles, eight grandchildren and brother, Arthur Shreves of St. Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Doris Cushing and one grandchild.
