FUNERAL HELD FOR EARL MACKEY, 77

Funeral services for Earl W. Mackey were held Tuesday afternoon, July 28, from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Mr. Mackey died July 24 at the Wadsworth Veterans hospital at Leavenworth, Kansas. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Mackey lived in this county, except for the past two years when he was a resident of St. Joseph, Mo.

The son of John Quincy and Viola Stevens Mackey, he was born at Peru on July 24, 1887. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was married to Edna Kinkennon in June 1945.

He is survived by his wife and six step-children.

Officiating at the service Tuesday afternoon was the Rev. John C. Porath. Military graveside rites were conducted by Green Rogers post of the American Legion in Winterset. Burial was in King cemetery northeast of Peru.
