September 1905Mrs. Jas. F. Irvin
Mrs. James F. Irvin departed this life September 8, 1905, in Walla Walla, Washington, after a sickness lasting from December 1, 1904, until the end came.
The deceased was born in Nebraska near Beatrice, 30 years ago. In early childhood the family moved to Earlham, Iowa, where she was educated and grew to womanhood. On June 15, 1893, she was married to James F. Irvin and for thirteen years theirs was a happy wedded life. One daughter Eva now 11 years old, blessed this union and is left as a comfort and solace to the bereaved husband and father.
The family moved west to Walla Walla, Washington, from Des Moines six years ago and one year later came to this locality and settled on the Horse Heaven wheat lands where they were prosperous and successful.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Austin Rice, of the First Congregational church on Sunday, Sept. 10th, 1905. A quartette composed of Prof. Bond, Miss Barr, Miss Harer and Dr. Willis sang beautiful and appropriate selections at the opening and conclusion of the service.
Interment was in Walla Walla cemetery where a brief burial service was conducted by Rev. Rice after which the friends were dismissed with prayer and benediction. – The Kennewick Courier.
