Services for R. J. Lewis, 70, who died at his home in Oakland, Calif, Thursday, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Earlham, with Evans Funeral Home at Earlham in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lewis was a merchant at Earlham from 1927 to 1943 and at Dexter from 1920 to 1923. He was a retired carpenter.

He was a former district commander of the American Legion and a member of the 40 & 8 Club, the Masonic Lodge, and the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cecil, a sister, Mrs. Maurine McCoy of Des Moines; a brother, Ward Lewis of Castro Valley, Calif., and a sister-in-law, Georgia Bricker of Des Moines.
