October 1985Wilma Elizabeth Rhine, daughter of Mabel Eyerly McBride and Ray Eyerly, passed away October 2, 1985 at her home. Wilma was born November 2, 1914 in Madison County, Iowa. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1932 and went on to Thompson Beauty School in Des Moines. She operated a beauty shop in Earlham for a few years.
On June 8, 1941 she was united in marriage to Willard Dale "Brownie" Rhine and to this union were born five children: Jean, Larry, Jerry, Betty and Jim. Wilma was a member of the Earlham Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #294. She enjoyed needlework and crocheting things for her grandchildren.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard; two brothers and an infant son. Her survivors are: Larry Joe and Jean Vandewater, of Greenfield, Larry and Sharon Rhine, of Slater, Richard and Betty Poland, of Treynor, and Jim Rhine, of Earlham; six grandchildren, Bradley and Deborah Rhine, Amy, Melissa, Aaron and Bryce Poland; two sisters, Aurola Seymour of Prole and Iola Wilson of Chetwynd, British Columbia, Canada and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 5, 1985 at the United Methodist Church, Earlham, Iowa, with the Reverend Helen Farr officiating. Gretchen Brittain provided organ music. Pallbearers were David Mitchell, Craig Oldham, Albert Fagen, Loren Mitchell, David Oldham and Nick Boyle. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Eyerly, John Eyerly, Mike Inman, Don Eyerly, Jeffery Mitchell and Dan Inman. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
