Flossie Wilson, Winterset

Services for Flossie Easter, 88, Winterset, who died of a heart ailment Sunday at Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Wednesday morning, Feb. 1 at First Christian Church here with the Rev. Jerry Zanker officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born at Van Wert on Dec. 26, 1895, she was the daughter of Stephen and Frances Price Easter. She married John R. Wilson at Van Wert Dec. 27, 1922. She came here from Adair County in 1938.

Mrs. Wilson was a retired homemaker and teacher. She taught at schools at Ames, Osceola and Winterset. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Current Topic club, A.V.A., World War I Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Queen Esther-Rachel Group of the Christian Church. She graduated from Drake University in 1918.

Survivors include sons, Darrell of Springfield, Ill., and Maurice of Norfolk, Va.; Patricia (Mrs. Jack) Benoit, and Mary Frances (Mrs. Glen) Almquist, both of Winterset; a brother, Bert Easter of Kansas City, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
