Fern F. Black, 81, died Sun., Sept. 13, 1992 following a lengthy illness in Iowa City. Graveside services will be held Sat. Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. at Winterset Cemetery. Pastor Don Frank will officiate. The George L. Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Black was born on March 5, 1911, in Madison County to Clyde and Cora (Pooler) MacAdow. She married Maurice K. Black on July 31, 1929, in Adel. They lived in Winterset until 1970 and then moved to Iowa City.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two daughters; and three brothers.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Marvyl Letz of Iowa City; a son, Dale A. Black of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Fern F. Black Memorial Fund.
