Services for Nellie M. Cameron, 87, Altoona, who died March 4, 1985 at Des Moines General Hospital, were held Wednesday, March 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born at Litchfield, Neb., on June 17, 1897, she was the daughter of Francis and Sarah Lou Alcorn Patton. She was married to Charles Cameron in Winterset on March 22, 1916.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Needlecraft Club, Women's Relief Corps, the Mums Garden Club, a past noble Grand of the Rebecca Lodge, and a past member of the Macksbsurg United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a son, Richard and wife Judy of Des Moines; daughters, Ora Kathleen Blair Austin (Mrs. Lee) of Paonia, Colo., Janet (Mrs. Duane) Semler of Des Moines and Annabelle (Mrs. Don) Ross of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, brother and four sisters.
