Clara Williams Black, Independence, Ia.

Clara Aletha Williams, 88, died Monday, December 26, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa. She was born January 7, 1900 at Haldane, Illinois, the daughter of William Michael Miller and Etta May (Stoner) Miller. On November 16, 1920 she was united in marriage to Irvin Emory Williams at Des Moines, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1947.

Mrs. Williams was a resident of Winterset from 1949 to 1973. While living in Winterset she was married to Harry Black on December 16, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1972.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jessup, Iowa.

Mrs. Williams is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Ione Williams of Jesup, three daughters, Leola Temeyer of rural Independence, Frances Ramsey of Des Moines and Carol Temeyer of rural Jesup; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two brothers, Leonard S. Miller of Dunkerton and Ray W. Miller of Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 29, 1988 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, with Rev. Eugene Green of the First Baptist church of Jesup officiating. Burial was in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup.
