Clara Black Dies at 80

Mrs. Clara Black of St. Charles died Friday, May 4, at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was 80 years of age.

Mrs. Black had been a resident of St. Charles since 1920, the year in which she was married to Gary Black. She was the former Clara Coles, daughter of Nelson and Millie Edgarton Coles, and was born at Liberty Center on Feb. 21, 1893.

She was a member of the St. Charles Christian Church.

Her husband died in 1969. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Belva Stryffeler of Waverly and Mrs. Jeanne Minard of Truro.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the St. Charles Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
