Marvyl Mae Letz, 64, died of congestive heart failure Nov. 12, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Robert Foster officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home. Family will receive friends prior to the service. A previous memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at George L. Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City.
Marvyl Letz was born April 4, 1935, to Maurice and Fern (MacAdow) Black of Winterset. A graduate of Winterset High, she married Phillip D. Letz on Jan. 5, 1953, in Adel. A homemaker, Marvyl moved to Iowa City in 1965.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of Iowa City; a daughter, Carisa Albert of Iowa City; a son, Martin "Marty" of Iowa City; a brother Dale Black of Oklahoma City, Okla; and one granddaughter.
