Robert Golightly

EARLHAM - A graveside service for Robert Golightly, 63, of Van Meter was held June 1, 1992 at Fairview Cemetery south of DeSoto. Mr. Golightly died of cancer on May 28 at his home.

The son of John and Fern Golightly, he was born Nov. 15, 1928 at Earlham. He married Mary Clements in 1953 at Des Moines. He resided in rural Van Meter most of his life.

Mr. Golightly was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Van Meter American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Robin and a brother, Wayne.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; four sons, Mark and Tom, both of Adel, Max of Cleves, Ohio, and Timothy of Stuart; one daughter, Linda Neal of Houston; two sisters, Helen Gebhardt of Des Moines and Barbara Fowler of Arkansas; and four grandchildren.

Robert Golightly, 63, died of cancer Thurs., May 28 at his home. Graveside services were held June 1 at Fairview Cemetery near DeSoto.

Born in Earlham, he lived in Van Meter most of his life. He was a retired farmer, Korean War veteran and a member of the Van Meter American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; four sons, Mark and Tom, both of Adel, Timothy of Stuart and Max of Cleves, Ohio; a daughter, Linda Neal of Houston; two sisters, Helen Gabhardt of Des Moines and Barbara Fowler of Arkansas; and four grandchildren.
