VELMA MARQUARDT SERVICES FRIDAY

Mrs. Alfred Marquardt of Jefferson township died this Tuesday, May 9 at a Des Moines hospital. She had undergone major surgery at the hospital April 26.

Mrs. Marquardt was 58 years of age. She was the former Velma Hoy, daughter of Albert and Ida Hoy.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from Trinity Lutheran church in Jefferson township. Burial will be made in the cemetery there.

LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. MARQUARDT

Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, from the Jefferson township Trinity Lutheran church for Mrs. Alfred Marquardt.

Mrs. Marquardt died May 9 at a Des Moines hospital. She was 58 years of age.

The daughter of Albert and Ida Hoy, she was born June 28, 1902 on a farm west of Adel in Dallas county. She attended Adel grade schools and graduated from Adel high school.

Mrs. Marquardt also attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, and Central college at Pella. For a time she taught in Iowa rural schools.

On April 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to Alfred Marquardt of Jefferson township.

She is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Henry Schmidt of Newton, and one brother, Allen Hoy of Adel.

Mrs. Marquardt was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church.

Officiating at the service last Friday was the Rev. H. Zagel. Burial was in the church cemetery.
