Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter for Myrtle I. Marquardt, who died Feb. 21 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She was 73 years old.
Born May 12, 1908 in Madison township, she was the daughter of Marion and Harriet Cox Addy. She attended country school until sixth grade and then attended country school until sixth grade and then attended DeSoto School, where she graduated in 1927.
In 1931 she married Ernest Marquardt at Trinity Lutheran Church. One son, Lyle, was born to the couple. Ernest and Myrtle lived in Earlham for many years, operating Ernie's TV until retiring in 1974.
Mrs. Marquardt was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest; son, Lyle; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Clausen of Dexter and Mrs. Mable Aldrick of Redfield; 9 nephews, 2 nieces and 2 grandchildren.
Pastor E. A. Breiholz officiated at the funeral service. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Obituary
Myrtle Inez Marquardt, the daughter of Marion Edmond and Harriet Cox Addy was born in Madison Township, Madison County, Iowa on May 12, 1908. She passed away February 21, 1982 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
As a child Myrtle lived on the family farm east of Earlham. She attended country school until sixth grade and then attended De Soto School. She graduated from DeSoto High School in 1927.
In 1931 Myrtle was united in marriage to Ernest Marquardt at Trinity Lutheran Church at Van Meter. One son, Lyle, blessed their marriage. The couple lived nearly all of their married life in Earlham where they were in business together at Ernie’s TV until 1974 when they retired.
Myrtle became a confirmed member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at the time of her marriage and was always active in the church.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ernest; son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Barbara; two grandchildren, Leslie and Eric; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Clausen of Dexter and Mrs. Mable Aldrich of Redfield; nine nephews, two nieces and many friends.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter, Iowa on February 24, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor E. A. Breiholz officiating. Special music was provided by the church choir with Mr. Bryan Martens, organist. Casket bearers were Glenn Aldrich, Marlyn Aldrich, Stewart Aldrich, Wayne Aldrich, Harry Petersen and Richard Petersen. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Professional services were provided by McKee Funeral Homes, Earlham and Dexter.
